Le Havre adds African international goalkeepers Lionel Mpasi and Mory Diaw

Le Havre continue to strengthen their squad with the signings of DR Congo international goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi and Senegalese custodian Mory Diaw. Mpasi and Diaw join the French Ligue 1 side and are expected to compete for the starting position as they did at Ligue 2 club Rodez for the last five months of the 2024-25 season.

Mpasi spent the last six seasons at Ligue 2 side Rodez, making 20 league appearances during the 2024/25 season. A product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy, he also had an early stint at Toulouse. After representing France at youth levels, Mpasi switched his international allegiance to DR Congo in 2022.

Diaw returns to the French top flight after spending the latter half of last season on loan at Ligue 2 side Rodez, where he made 11 appearances. A product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy, the 32-year-old custodian was part of Senegal’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, serving as the backup to first-choice goalkeeper Édouard Mendy. He remains a member of the Teranga Lions.

In what will be a continuation of their time together at Rodez, Mpasi and Diaw will now battle it out for the No.1 jersey at Le Havre. Both goalkeepers share a similar background, having come through the youth ranks at PSG and playing together earlier in their careers.
