Leicester City are reportedly attempting to push Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannous into a transfer to the Saudi Pro League during the current summer window, despite the player’s firm refusal. According to Foot Mercato, the 21-year-old has made it clear that he does not want to move to Saudi Arabia.
El Khannous has attracted significant interest from several clubs this summer following Leicester’s relegation to the Championship. However, Foot Mercato reports that the Foxes are determined to secure a deal with a Saudi club due to the lucrative financial package on offer and have already turned down multiple offers from European clubs. Saudi giants Al-Ittihad are believed to be leading the chase for the midfielder.
Despite this, Bilal El Khannous has informed Leicester’s hierarchy that he has no intention of accepting a move to the Gulf.
The young Moroccan joined Leicester last summer from Belgian side Genk in a €25 million deal. In his debut season at the King Power Stadium, he made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
