Leicester City have reportedly rejected a €7 million bid from Turkish giants Besiktas for Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
The offer fell short of the Foxes’ valuation and has been turned down by the club. According to reports from Turkey, the Black Eagles’ €7 million proposal was immediately rejected by the Championship club.
The bid is notably below Ndidi’s current market value and, crucially, also falls short of the €9 million release clause that became active in his contract following Leicester’s drop to the second tier.
Despite Leicester City relegation from the Premier League last season, the 28-year-old Super Eagles star continues to attract significant interest across Europe.
He has been linked with clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Juventus, Fenerbahce, and teams from the Saudi Pro League. However, Besiktas are the first to make a formal offer.
While Besiktas remain keen on securing Ndidi’s services, sources suggest that Leicester is not willing to accept a fee below the activated clause.
Ndidi, has two years remaining on his contract and has yet to push for a move despite the activated clause and mounting speculation over his future.
