Liberian football community mourns passing of rising star Amara Kamara

The Liberian football community is in a state of mourning after news of the death of Black Man Warrior FC player Amara Kamara. The young footballer passed away two weeks after suffering a spinal cord injury in Black Man Warrior's top flight match against Bea Mountain. Kamara was seventeen years old.
After suffering the severe injury, Kamara received treatment at several hospitals in Liberia where he was diagnosed. Without an improvement in his condition, the decision was made to transport Kamara for advanced treatment in Ghana but difficulties arose in arranging travel. Accompanied by members of his family, Kamara passed away while being transported by road to Ghana.
The rising talent had previously participated in Finland's Helsinki Cup youth tournament and was seen as a rising star in Liberian football. The Liberia Football Association (LFA) released a statement to express its condolences following Kamara's passing:
