Libya claimed a 1–0 victory over Mauritania in a friendly match played on Saturday at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, as the Mediterranean Knights prepare for the upcoming Arab Cup qualifying clash against Palestine.

Mahmoud Al-Shalwi broke the deadlock in the 31st minute, converting a cross with a first-time finish to give Libya a lead.

Mauritania pushed forward in search of an equaliser after the break, creating two notable chances during the second half. However, Libyan goalkeeper Ayman Al-Tihhar produced saves on both occasions, preserving the narrow advantage and securing the clean sheet.

Despite pressure from the visitors, Libya held firm until the final whistle to seal a win.

The national team will travel to Qatar, where the Al-Gharafa Stadium is set to host the Libya vs. Palestine fixture on 25 November as part of the qualification stage for the upcoming Arab Cup.

The Arab Cup is scheduled to kick off on December 1 and will run until December 18, featuring 16 Arab national teams competing for the regional title.
