Al Ahli Tripoli secured the Libyan Cup for the eighth time in the club’s history after defeating Al Ahli Benghazi 3–0 on Thursday evening at Cairo International Stadium.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, with both sides struggling to find the back of the nets.
The deadlock continued into the second half until the 67th minute, when Al Ahli Tripoli’s Azzou Al-Merimi headed home the opening goal. Substitute Omran Salem doubled the lead in the 88th minute, capitalizing on poor defense to put his team firmly in control.

Moments later, Mabululu thought he had added a third, only for the assistant referee to raise the flag for offside. However, after a VAR review, the goal was confirmed as valid, sealing a deserved 3–0 victory for Al Ahli Tripoli.
With this triumph, Al Ahli Tripoli lifts the Libyan Cup for the eighth time in their illustrious history.
