The Board of Directors of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) issued a decisive official statement on Tuesday, putting an end to widespread rumors in sports and media circles regarding the cancellation of the relegation system for the current 2024-2025 Libyan Premier League season.
The federation categorically and firmly denied the validity of these reports, asserting that there is no intention or directive within the board to violate the organizational regulations of the local competitions.
The statement stressed that the promotion and relegation mechanism, which was adopted from the beginning of the season, will be fully implemented according to clear and specific decisions and standards that were previously announced.
The Board of Directors clarified that its commitment to applying the regulations is to ensure fair and honorable competition among all clubs.
In its statement, the LFF called upon all clubs and stakeholders in Libyan sports to exercise precision and not be swayed by false news, which it described as "aiming to cause confusion and stir up trouble at this sensitive time of the sports season."
The Libyan Football Federation's board reaffirmed its complete commitment to applying all decisions, regulations, and competition systems issued before the start of the season, including the system of promotion and relegation for all accredited official competitions.
