Libyan Premier League: New date confirmed for decisive title match between Al Ahli Tripoli and Al Hilal

The Libyan Football Federation’s Competitions Committee has announced that the rescheduled Premier League title-deciding match between Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Hilal Benghazi will take place on Tuesday, August 12, at Stadio Città di Amedì at 17:30 GMT, with the same Italian refereeing team originally assigned to officiate the game.

The fixture, part of the final round of the Libyan Premier League Championship Playoffs, was postponed on Sunday after a malfunction in the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system led both teams to refuse to play, citing the need to uphold the principle of fair competition.

In its statement, the Libyan FA confirmed it is working to fix the technical issues and finalize all logistical arrangements in coordination with the Italian Football Federation and relevant committees. The federation also pledged to submit an urgent report detailing the incident to oversight bodies for further investigation, if necessary.

Reaffirming its commitment to ensuring integrity and fairness, the Libyan FA called on football supporters to back their teams in a spirit of sportsmanship and help guarantee the success of this title clash.
