Aucho back in training: Young Africans Sports Club.
Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Miloud Hamdi has revealed his delight following the return to fitness of three players as they chase for two trophies in Tanzania.
Apart from chasing to retain the Mainland Premier League title, the Citizens are in the semi-finals of the Federation Cup where they are scheduled to confront JKT Tanzania between May 16 and 18 at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.
The team has received a major boost with Khalid Aucho, Pacome Zouzoua, and Kennedy Musonda returning from their respective injuries ready to help the side push for the two titles on offer until the end of the season.
Uganda midfielder Aucho has been sidelined with a torn hamstring, while Ivorian attacking midfielder Pacome sustained an injury during a high-stakes clash against Azam FC. On the other hand, Zambia’s Musonda was injured during the Muungano Cup.
“We have gained more strength seeing the players back in training,” said Hamdi on the return of the trio. “Their presence is like the return of weapons that were missing in previous matches. I am happy to have a strong squad that gives me the strength to make the rotation as I want depending on the opponents that come.”
On the league front, Yanga are currently leading the table with 70 points, four more than second-placed and rivals Simba SC. Yanga will resume league action with a home match against Namungo FC at KMC Stadium on Tuesday.
