Simba SC defender Che Malone has revealed how the Tanzanian giants have managed to secure nine points from their games in hand in the Mainland Premier League.

With their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup where they managed to reach the final after beating Stellenbosch of South Africa 1-0 on aggregate, Simba saw most of their league matches being rescheduled.

However, they have now been forced to play their matches in a space of two days, starting with the game against Mashujaa, whom they beat 2-1, JT Tanzania whom the edged out 1-0 and now Pamba Jiji, whom they hammered 5-1 on Thursday at KMC Stadium.

Against Pamba, coach Fadlu Davids was forced to rotate his squad but they still managed to register a convincing win. Jean Ahoua opened the floodgate of goals in the 15th minute before he doubled the scores in the 37th minute for a 2-0 lead at the half-time break.

Ahoua then scored the third in the 48th minute to seal hat-trick before a double from Leonel Ateba in the 80th and 85th minutes respectively sealed the emphatic win.

“We are footballers so we have to be ready at any time, it is job, it is what we choose to play, so playing four games in seven days, it is not easy, but it depends, on your mind set, your preparations,” Malone told Pan-Africa Football.

“With the help of the coach, he helps us a lot with recovery process, so that everybody can be fit to play each game at a time, as you can see those, who played the last time, most of them didn’t start today, it is because he had to rest some other players to prepare for the coming game on Sunday.

“So, it is a good team spirit, everybody is ready to play, and everybody is ready to give an opportunity to others to play, so union in the team is very good and I appreciate it, let us continue with the same spirit, and I believe we will go higher.”

The win pushed Simba to within four points of rivals Yanga, as they reached 66 points and they still have a game in hand against KMC.
