For all clubs in the Ligi Kuu Bara except for title contenders Young Africans (Yanga) and Simba SC, only one match remains as a long 2024-25 season in Tanzania's top flight approaches its conclusion. Nothing changed at the top of the table following a busy Wednesday that saw Yanga and Simba cruise to easy victories.

Defending champions and league leaders Yanga were held for the opening half hour but once Yahya Mudathir's 31st minute goal handed the visitors the lead, it was all downhill for Tanzania Prisons as the leaders marched to a 5-0 victory. Pacôme Zouzoua scored twice and Clatous Chama added another goal as Yanga maintained their slim one-point lead.

Simba also had no issues against bottom side KenGold, winning by the same score as rivals Yanga. Kibu Denis scored twice inside the opening thirty minutes with foreign stars Elie Mpanzu, Leonel Ateba and Jean Charles Ahoua each contributing a goal.

One thing that was confirmed is the third place finisher which will be Azam FC. In yet another 5-0 result, Azam crushed fifth place Tabora United to maintain their four-point lead over Singida Black Stars and secure a guaranteed place in the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The attention now turns back to the title-deciding Kariakoo Derby between Dar es Salaam rivals Yanga and Simba. The crucial match has been rescheduled to June 25 by the league but the two rivals continue to publicly battle over the terms of the match. It appears that things may be resolved in time but Simba continue to take a firm public stance against the rescheduling of the match which was originally scheduled for June 15.
