Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has warned his players against underrating Tabora United when the two sides face off in a Mainland Premier League fixture at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium on Sunday.

This will be Simba’s first match in the second round and they will be under pressure to win after their rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) kicked off their second round campaign with a 4-0 victory against Kagera Sugar at KMC Stadium on Saturday.

“We will not relax, we will not be complacent, we will play at 100 percent all time and that is what you can ask from the players, stick to the plan, do your best and try to make the fans happy and that is what I can guarantee,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football ahead of the game.

“Of course we have a lot of respect for Tabora United, they are quite organized with the new coach with very good players, I just watched our first match against Tabora, and we are a very different team right now, so we must anticipate a different match.”

The South African coach continued: “Tabora have really improved in recent months but so we have improved, and we have a different team, very different from when we played against them in the first round but NBC Premier League is very unpredictable.”

On his message to the fans, Davids said: “We want to make our fans happy, and everything we do, we do it because of them and you can’t guarantee results because football is unpredictable but what I can guarantee is that my players will give everything from the minute until the end.”

He concluded: “The league is back and we are excited and ready for the second round, we have already profiled our next seven matches before the FIFA break and we know what to expect, we will play in every three days and it is really exciting time for NBC Premier League, we happy to be back and let us hope we have a full stadium on Sunday.”

Yanga’s win saw Simba drop to the second position on the league table but a win against Tabora will see them reclaim the top spot.
