Simba SC assistant coach Selemani Matola has revealed their readiness to battle KMC in a rescheduled Mainland Premier League fixture at KMC Stadium on Sunday.

The Msimbazi Reds will be playing their last game in hand, having already played three matches since they qualified for their first-ever final of the CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Stellenbosch of South Africa 1-0 on aggregate.

“We are coming from a difficult schedule, in 10 days we need to play four matches, we have finished three and are remaining with one, which is against KMC, and always as I say, Simba doesn’t face easy games, all games are difficult for Simba,” Matola told Pan-Africa Football.

“We have respect for all the games that are in front of us, so we always make sure to fight and battle to win the matches because we know, no game is an easy game, good news from our side is that all the players are in camp, apart from Mzamiru (Yassin), who is out injured.

“We are anticipating a very difficult game, because we will be playing at KMC, the home of KMC, we are the visitors, we know KMC have had bad results, but that does not mean we underrate them, we are playing at their backyard, and I know they don’t want to lose the game, but with their difficulties, and playing at home, we don’t fear, we are ready for them.”

A win for Simba will see them cut Young Africans (Yanga’s) lead at the top of the league table to one point.
