A difficult stretch of four games in twelve days continued on Monday for Simba SC but the Tanzanian giants did enough to secure a 1-0 away victory at JKT Tanzania and maintain their pursuit of leaders and rivals Young Africans.
Former Al Hilal Omdurman and Raja Casablanca midfielder Fabrice Ngoma arrived to smash in a cross from Steven Mukwala for the only goal of the match just before halftime. It was not the most stylish and dominant victory that Simba supporters expect on Monday but with the increased fixture congestion, obtaining the three points is the highest priority.
Simba continue to close the gap on Yanga as they make up the games they have in hand due to CAF Confederation Cup duties. The Reds are now seven points back with two less matches played than the league leaders.
Simba once again have little time to rest as they prepare for their third match in the busy stretch, hosting Pamba Jiji at home on Thursday.
