Tanzanian Premier League giants Young Africans (Yanga SC) remain uncertain whether lead striker Prince Dube will feature in their remaining top-flight matches after he picked up an injury on Wednesday.

The Zimbabwean forward, who is in the running to be the league’s top scorer, was pulled out of Yanga’s 5-0 win against Tanzania Prisons at Sokoine Stadium in the 18th minute after he sustained what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Dube was replaced by Zambia midfielder Clatous Chama, who came on to add his name to the scoresheet. However, at the final whistle, Yanga called on their fans to “please pray for Dube” in a social media message, saying that he could miss the rest of the season.

The striker, who joined Yanga from rivals Azam FC, has scored 13 goals so far this season, the same as Simba’s Clement Mzize. With 16 goals, Simba’s Jean Ahoua is topping the goal-scoring chart.
