Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Hamdi Miloud has revealed their readiness to take on Tabora United in a Mainland Premier League fixture at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium on Tuesday.

The Citizens will head into the top-flight test having qualified for the quarter-finals of the Federations Cup with a convincing 2-0 victory over Championship side Songea United on Saturday. During the fixture, Miloud rested many regular players to freshen them up for the remaining league assignments.

He also missed the services of Yanga players, who were with their respective national teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Miloud has assured fans that they have had enough preparations to get a win and earn revenge from the first round clash.

“We have prepared this game very seriously, because we need points, we know it is going to be a very difficult game, all the games are very difficult because we are Young Africans, and all the teams want to give everything,” Maloud told Pan-Africa Football.

“We have worked very carefully on our opponents because we don’t want what happened behind in the first game against them to repeat itself, it’s a tough game and every team that faces us must try and play well but we are a big club and this is the environment for us to make sure we prove that by leaving with victory.”

Yanga lost the first round meeting 3-1 against Tabora and asked about it, he said: “It is not possible to win all the games, you see Real Madrid, Liverpool, you see all the big clubs lose matches, it is not possible to win one season all the games, so Young Africans is a big club, big team, but sometimes we lose, sometimes we win.”

Miloud continued: “We have analysed the game, we have tried to find the best solution of how to approach the game, the players are good physically, they have no injuries, they have been training good, but you know they have played many games.

“They only played in the domestic Cup, they played in Caf Champions League, they have been playing league matches, but with the training and camps, believe me we are okay, we must be smart in training as much as it is too much for the players.”

Yanga will take advantage of Simba SC, who will be away for their Caf Confederation Cup fixture against Al Masry in Cairo, to open up a gap at the top of the log. Yanga are currently leading on 58 points, one more than second-placed Simba.
