Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans (Yanga SC) have commenced contract talks with defender Dickson Job in a bid to extend his stay at the club.

Job’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season. According to the Guardian, a meeting was held between the Jangwani Street-based side’s officials and representatives of the defender.

Preliminary agreements have already been reached, though both parties have opted to take additional time to carefully review specific terms and clauses in the proposed contract before signing.

Job is regarded as one of the most reliable figures in Young Africans’ defensive line and has been instrumental in the club’s successful campaign this season. His leadership and consistency have earned him admiration from both the technical bench and fans across the country.

In a recent interview, Yanga head of media and communications, Ali Kamwe said on their intentions to keep key players: “We are in the process of renewing contracts for players whose current deals are nearing an end. Our goal is to retain the core of the team that has delivered consistent success, and we are working closely with the technical team to identify key individuals who are essential for our future plans.”

Should Job sign the new deal, he will join the likes of Pacome Zouzoua and Maxi Nzengeli, who recently extended their contracts with the club as part of a broader plan to maintain squad continuity and competitiveness.
