Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Miloud Hamdi has discussed the club’s readiness to get a positive result and avoid disappointing their fans when they confront Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) in a Mainland Premier League fixture at KMC Stadium on Friday.
Duirng his first match in charge since replacing Sead Ramovic, the Algerian coach, who was hired from Singida Black Stars, managed a disappointing 0-0 draw against JKT Tanzania, a result that allowed their rivals Simba SC to return to the summit of the league following their 3-0 win against Tanzania Prisons.
“We have prepared ourselves mentally to make sure we get victory and avoid disappointing our fans." All of us, the technical bench and the players are eager to win this game against KMC,” Hamdi told Pan-Africa Football.
“I agree that fans have every reason to be dissatisfied because we are a big club and fans want to win every game. Believe it, even we coaches and players want to win every game. So on Friday, we will do our best to win this game because we need three points.”
Hamdi continued: “I want to give a message to Young Africans fans that we struggle and work hard because of them and the players know what to do and also in future. We are here to win titles, we are not here for work only, and our fans should not give up because of one draw we still have many games to play.
“Everything is possible, we are not too late, we have time, but we must do our best to win all the games to make our fans happy because they are with us, and we are also with them.”
Revisiting the outcome of the game against JKT, Hamdi said: “We know it was not a good result, it was disappointing to everyone but it was only my first game and I really wanted to win it, but we only managed a draw.”
A win for Yanga will enable them to return to the top of the table, with Simba’s game against Dodoma Jiji having been postponed.
