Godo is one of the most in form players in the French top flight at the moment and the 22-year-old winger opened the scoring in Strasbourg’s 3-1 victory over Olympique Lyonnais. The diminutive attacker got on the end of a brilliant pass from Diego Moreira to volley his club into a halftime lead.
Strasbourg, well known for being the affiliate club of Premier League giants Chelsea FC, are now in 7th place and are one of the more exciting teams to watch in Ligue 1 due to the entertaining style of players like Godo and Moreira.
Godo now has 9 goals and 2 assists in his last 13 matches, bringing his totals to 12 goals and 5 assists in 26 matches across all competitions this season. He was named in the Team of the Week by top French sports publication L’Équipe.

Also named in the Team of the Week was Cameroon left back Aboubakar Nagida. The Rennes was very active on both ends, winning 7 of his 11 duels to go along with 4 interceptions and 4 clearances in a 3-0 victory at Auxerre. The 20-year-old continues to make strides in his third season since making his professional debut during the 2023-24 campaign.
Another Cameroonian announced his return to the French top flight on Sunday. Ignatius Ganago scored his first Ligue 1 goal since the 2022-23 season with Nantes with a penalty kick in their 2-0 victory over Le Havre.

It has been a difficult period in the career of the 27-year-old forward who represented Cameroon at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Long-term injuries reduced his role during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, all after enduring the tragedy of his young daughter’s passing in 2023.
After showing some positive signs during a loan spell with Major League Soccer club New England Revolution until the end of 2025, Ganago made two substitute appearances for Nantes in 2026 before earning a start and converting from the spot on Sunday.
Also scoring from the penalty spot was another player who is returning to form. Senegalese forward Bamba Dieng’s hard work has seen him return to regular playing time at FC Lorient and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champion’s sixth goal of 2026 allowed the visitors to come back and earn a point with a 3-3 result at Nice.

Dieng eclipsed the century mark in Ligue 1 appearances and is another player who is enjoying a renaissance in 2026 so far.
Finally, Zimbabwe national team midfield star Marshall Munetsi opened his account with Paris FC on Saturday. The on-loan player from Premier League side Wolves scored the first goal in a 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

After excellent work from winger Alimani Gory, Munetsi did the rest with an instinctive finish. After an up-and-down period with Wolves, who are destined for relegation from the English top flight, a return to French football is helping the powerful midfielder return to form after previously starring for Stade Reims.
