French Ligue 1 club Lille officially signed Moroccan international Hamza Igamane from Glasgow Rangers on Friday.
The 22-year-old striker, who has signed a contract until June 2030, represents an investment of around €12 million according to Sky Sports. This arrival illustrates the ambitions of the northern club, determined to strengthen its attacking sector before tackling a season full of challenges, both in Ligue 1 and on the European stage.
Having emerged at Fath Union Sport (FUS) in Rabat, Igamane truly exploded into life with AS FAR, a club with which he established himself as one of the most promising strikers in the Moroccan league.
His move to Glasgow Rangers in 2024 marked a key milestone: in his first season in Scotland, he played 46 matches, scored 16 goals, and provided three assists, becoming one of the club’s most reliable attacking players. His rapid progression and goalkeeping skills attracted Lille’s scouts, convinced they had found a talent capable of reaching new heights in Ligue 1.
With this transfer, Hamza Igamane joins the long list of Moroccan talents successfully exported to Europe, while also providing Lille with an additional weapon in its quest for results.
