Lloyd Aaron signs for Al-Sadaqa SC in Libya

Libyan Premier League side Al-Sadaqa SC have signed Malawi national team midfielder Lloyd Aaron as a free agent on a season-long contract.

The 24-year-old joins the North African outfit just three weeks after his surprise departure from Qatari Second Division side Muaither SC.

Al-Sadaqa, who currently sit fifth in the Libyan Premier League, confirmed the “Flames” star’s arrival in an official statement, describing the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets captain as a “combative box-to-box player.”

“[He] arrives with the spirit of a fighter, backed by international experience with his national team. He is ready to put his capabilities at the service of the club and its fans,” the statement reads.

An Acrimonious Exit from Muaither SC

In January 2025, Muaither SC stunned the Malawian football community by severing ties with Aaron just six months into a three-year contract. The decision raised questions regarding the underlying reasons for his exit, especially as coach Aleksandr Viselinovic released the midfielder despite him being a regular starter.

During his brief stint in Qatar, the former Civil Service United man featured in nine matches and scored once across all competitions. Aaron had originally joined Muaither from Bullets last July, following a successful tenure where he made 54 appearances, scoring one goal and providing six assists.
