Mamelodi Sundowns, the reigning Betway Premiership champions, have confirmed the departure of two long-serving first-team players as they prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
The Brazilians have bid farewell to Rivaldo Coetzee and Lebohang Maboe, both of whom have been integral parts of the club’s recent success.
Coetzee ends an impressive eight-year stint in Pretoria, having joined Sundowns from Ajax Cape Town in 2017.
During his time at Chloorkop, the versatile defender amassed over 130 appearances and was part of a dominant era, contributing to a remarkable 14 trophy wins. The club expressed its gratitude on Sunday, stating, “The Yellow Nation thanks Rivaldo Coetzee for eight years as a Sandawana. After winning 14 trophies in his time with the Club and making over 130 appearances, the Mamelodi Sundowns family wishes you all the best in your next chapter.”
