Lookman nominated for Atalanta’s Goal Of The Season award

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is in the running for Atalanta’s Goal of the Season award.

Having been Player of the Season for the previous two campaigns at Atalanta, Lookman, the current Africa Player of the Year, is nominated solely for Goal of the Season.

The Nigerian forward has two goals nominated for the individual award. His well-struck strike in Atalanta’s 3-2 loss to Real Madrid was the first on the list.

The 27-year-old also earned a nomination for his sublime finish in La Dea’s 5-0 trashing of Empoli at the Gewiss Stadium.

Lookman will be aiming to add another individual award to complement his two Atalanta Player of the Season titles.

The Nigerian international scored 22 times and recorded five assists in 46 appearances across all competitions for the Bergamo club last season.

However, despite Atalanta's new boss, Ivan Juric, expressing a strong desire to retain Lookman, the forward's future at the club remains in doubt due to high interest from Napoli."
