Former South Africa national team attacker Luther Singh is continuing to resurrect his career in Cyprus and was on target again Sunday with two goals in AEL Limassol’s 4-1 victory over Omonia Aradippou.
The former Braga and FC Copenhagen player has now scored four goals in as many matches in the Cypriot top flight, helping his club move closer to a top-6 position on the table.
Singh struck twice in the opening twenty minutes against relegation candidates Omonia Aradippou. The 28-year-old skillfully took down a cross in the 4th minute before firing a fierce effort into the top corner. About fifteen minutes later, he doubled his tally after running onto a pass and striking another powerful effort.

AEL have now won three of their last four matches during Singh’s hot streak as they continue to rise out of a midtable position to compete for qualification to UEFA club competition for next season. The Soweto native now have five goals in twelve league matches this season, leaving him tied for sixth on the goal scorers chart.
Singh moved to AEL ahead of the 2024-25 season after a difficult period in his club career that included failed spells at Copenhagen as well as Portuguese club Chaves and Serbian side Cukaricki.
Previously a phenom with South Africa’s youth national teams earlier in his career, he won the Golden Boot at the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations and produced three goals in thirteen appearances for Bafana Bafana before making his final appearance for South Africa in 2021 during 2022 World Cup qualifying.
