Young Africans stand-in coach Patrick Mabedi has revealed their readiness to take on KMC in a Mainland Premier League fixture at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday.
The record league champions will come into the fixture seeking a third win of the campaign. Ahead of the game, Mabedi believes they have done everything to get ready.
Mabedi further said apart from going for the three points, Yanga’s focus was to build a good team that compete in all fronts this season.
“For us, it’s not just about three points, it’s about building a good team and playing well, so I think in order to win the matches ahead of us we have to build a good team, apart from that we are looking forward to increasing our confidence and increasing our focus on using our chances,” Mabedi told Pan-Africa Football.
“We have really had a good time to prepare for tomorrow’s (Sunday) game and our players are very dedicated and are continuing to receive our instructions well, in short we are well prepared and we expect to win.”
The Malawian coach added: “Every team in the league is there to achieve their goals, we have to respect every game to achieve our goals, we know it will be a difficult game and we are prepared to win.”
“We believe the presence of fans is very important to us, they are the 12th player on the field, as they always come in large numbers to give us motivation to compete. We strongly ask them to come and support us tomorrow, we are making good preparations to ensure that when they come to the field, they have fun.”
Speaking on behalf of the players, Edmund John said: “We as players are well prepared and we are going to play against a tough opponent but we believe we will get three points because each of us knows the importance of winning the match.”
He added: “My role as a player is to help the team, working with my teammates and the technical bench. I believe if I get a chance tomorrow (Sunday), I will do my best to help us win.”
Out of three matches so far this season, Yang have won two and drawn one.
