Ghana international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has joined Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louvière on loan for the rest of the season from rivals RSC Anderlecht.

The West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) graduate has grappled with incessant injuries this campaign, forcing him out of Anderlecht’s first team.
A statement confirming the loan capture of Ashimeru read on the club’s website:
”RAAL has secured its fourth winter signing! Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru (28 years old) joins us on loan for the next six months.
‘The 28-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, who was trained at Red Bull Salzburg, has been playing for Anderlecht since 2021 after stints in Austria and at FC Sankt-Gallen.
‘Wearing the purple and white jersey, he has made 129 first-team appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists. Majeed has also been called up 12 times to the Ghanaian national team. Welcome to the Easi Arena, Majeed!”
Ashimeru, who has made 12-appearances for the Black Stars, will team up with fellow Ghanaian Jerry Afriyie as the club seeks to escape relegation at the of the season. They sit 13th on the league log with 23 points from 22 games.
The move to La Louvière will help the former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder rejuvenate his career in a bid to earn a spot in Ghana coach Otto Addo’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, USA and Mexico.
Ghana is paired against CONCACAF representatives Panama as well as England and Croatia in Group L.
Ghana will be making its fifth FIFA World Cup appearance after topping the qualifying group with 25 points from ten matches.
