Head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) side, Niger Tornadoes, Majin Mohammed has urged his players to rise to the occasion as they kick off their 2025-26 season with a challenging home fixture against Nasarawa United.
The match is set to take place at their temporary home ground in Ilorin, with kickoff scheduled for Wednesday. Mohammed during the pre-match interview acknowledged the unique pressure his team faces, particularly the weight of expectation from their loyal fan base.
“The players understand the significance of this game and the expectations of our supporters. We are all focused on starting the season on a strong, and positive note.”
He also shared his opinion on the change of their traditional home stadium as another layer of complexity for the Ikon Allah Boys.
“We are not happy that this game is going to be decided outside our home venue. But nonetheless, we are used to playing home games away from home, so this is not any different and we are going to approach it like any other game.”
The match is a rematch of last season’s encounter between the two clubs. that ended in a 0-0 draw.
