Madagascar national team versatile defender Scotty Sadzoute has signed a one-year contract with Slovenian ambitious top-flight league club FC Koper.

In a statement, the European side confirmed the recruitment of the French-born wingback who boasts loads of experience.

“The 27-year-old full-back is a Madagascar international and also holds a French passport,” reads the club’s statement.

“He started his football career in the Lille academy. He also played 62 games in Ligue 2 in France, he also proved himself in Belgium (OH Leuven), and most recently played in Lithuania at FA Šiauliai. The cooperation is concluded until the end of the 2026/27 season. Scotty, welcome to Koper!”

Based in Koper town and founded in 1920, the club competes in the Slovenian First League. FC Koper won the league once, in the 2009–10 season, and the Slovenian Cup four times.

Where was Scotty Sadzoute playing before?

Sadzoute has secured the contract with FC Koper days after being released by Lithuanian top league side FA Siauliai in a major clear out that has also affected Estonian Nikita Komissarov.

“As the curtain rises on the 2026 season, further changes have been confirmed within the ranks of FA Šiauliai. The club will no longer see last year’s signings Scotty Sadzoute and Nikita Komissarov, who arrived in the city of the sun at the beginning of the previous campaign. The contracts of the Madagascar and Estonia internationals were not extended by the club,” reads a statement for Siauliai.

The speedy Sadzoute made 30 appearances for Siauliai while registering two assists across all competitions in the yellow and black shirt this season.
