Bullets have been charged with counts of violence and hooliganism after failing to control their fans from assaulting and bullying Hammers and invading the pitch.
The second count hinges on the assault and bullying match officials and the third is that of bringing the game of football into disrepute.
FAM also placed three charges on Bullets supporters —Chingeni Gumbala Kadam’manja, Shaibu Woyera, Trouble Ndikida Kapito, Alick Tsegula, Ganizani Baba and Dyton Bello for bullying Hammers by insulting them and denying them access to the dressing room.
“At half-time of the said match, Mr Kadam’manja and other FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters obstructed the match organisation’s security operations by rescuing a pitch invader from stewards and setting him free,” reads part of the charge sheet.
“At half-time the above-mentioned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters confronted and manhandled the officiating team.”
The association has also charged another supporter Fred Sherrif separately for assaulting and bullying opponents after he invaded the pitch to pour liquid substances on Hammers’ goalkeeper Innocent Kamwambi, due to juju related beliefs.
The People’s Team has since been given 48 hours from Tuesday to respond to the charges. The Blantyre giants have since condemned the fans involved in the incidents and instituted investigations on the matter while warning of stern punishment on the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, FAM fined Hammers an equivalent of USD58 for shunning a mandatory pre-match meeting on the eve of the Castel Cup semi-final.
“The meeting was a compulsory administrative requirement aimed at ensuring proper coordination of match logistics, safety arrangements and compliance with competition regulations,” adds the statement.
Hammers have 14 days to pay the fine. Bullets won the last-four stage match 2-0 to date Goshen City Dedza Dynamos FC in the final of the national knock-out competition.
