Mighty Wanderers piled pressure on leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets after beating Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in Malawi’s elite TNM Super League.

The domestic league action returned after a two-week recess induced by the senior national football team’s participation in the COSAFA Cup. There were no surprises with Wanderers getting maximum points at the expenses of the soldiers in the Central Region.

The Nomads maintained their two-point distance from Bullets after the leaders' 2-0 win over Mighty Tigers in Blantyre on Sunday.

At Champion Stadium, Wanderers winger Gaddie Chirwa scored from Wisdom Mpinganjira's 49th minute corner kick. Three minutes later, Blessings Singini increased the lead for Wanderers with a trademark long range drive. Eventually, Mpinganjira put the game beyond the reach of the soldiers with a stunning effort.

The win was a perfect response to Bullets who defeated Tigers with late goals from Hassan Kajoke and Babatunde Adepoju. In Lilongwe, holders Silver Strikers dropped more points in a 1-1 draw with Blue Eagles to remain eighth, nine points behind Bullets.
