Deposed Malawi champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets held their annual gala in the commercial capital Blantyre with Nigerian Babatunde Adepoju among the winners on Monday.

Adepoju won the Golden Boot Award for the 2024 Airtel Top champions who failed to defend the elite TNM Super League for the sixth consecutive season after finishing third.

Defender Nixon Nyasulu was named Defender of the Season and eventual Player of the Season whereas the Goalkeeper of the Year Award went to Richard Chimbamba.

Nyasulu outshone other nominees for the category such as Adepoju, who is on loan from South Africa Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Academy FC. New signing Lloyd Aaron who joined from Civil Sporting Club walked away with Midfielder of the Season while winger Chikumbutso Salima was decorated as the Most Improved Player of the Season.

Club president Konrad Buckle also presented captain Gomezgani Chirwa with the Chairman’s Award for his exemplary commitment and conduct after featuring in 42 out of 46 matches for Bullets in the just-ended season. Bullets are record 16-time champions for Malawi followed by Silver Strikers (eight titles) who won the championship for the just-ended season. The 2025-26 season is set to kick-off next March with Airtel Top 8 clashes.
