Malawi’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) heroine Faith Chinzimu has carried her red-hot form to her Swedish club.
The 18-year-old scored a brace on October 28 2025 to send the Scorchers of Malawi to their first ever WAFCON finals after prevailing 2-0 over Angolan counterparts in Lilongwe.
Now back to her club, the Malawian was on fire on Wednesday in a Swedish Cup match. She scored then provided an assist for BK Häcken Women as they tore apart IK Rosso Uddevalla Women 10-0. The emphatic one-way victory took Häcken to the group stage of the cup.
In a reaction via her Facebook page, Chinzumu wrote: “A goal in 10 goals. One team. One mentality. Relentless from start to finish. We are into the group stage of Svenska Cupen.”
During the game, Häcken were in a battle mood as they led 7-0 at the break before adding three more goals in the second stanza.
Chinzimu scored the eighth goal after heading in a corner from Pernille Sanvig then assisted for 19-year-old Academy graduate Hilda Rydh to make it 9-0. Alva Selerud finished off the scoring spree by scoring to make it 10-0.
Earlier, Matilda Nildén had opened the floodgates in the 19th minute shortly after goalkeeper Linn Borg had denied Chinzimu from a free-kick.
Some 10 minutes later, Alva Selerud made it 2–0 with a left-footed shot before Helena Sampaio headed in a cross from Alva Selerud to make it 3-0 on the half-hour mark. Paulina Nyström, captain Carly Wickenheiser, Paulina Nyström, Helena Sampaio and Giulia Benvenuti scored the other goals.
