The Stade Malien academy graduate has been an imporatant part of the Revolution squad since arriving for a substantial transfer fee from French Ligue 2 side Amiens. He has made 25 appearances so far in his debut MLS season and contributed his first assist, an accurate long ball to Cameroonian forward Ignatius Ganago, in New England’s 2-1 victory away at Columbus Crew on Saturday.

The 27-year-old’s team is not performing up to their potential but Fofana continues to form an imposing central duo with Ecuadorian defender Brayan Ceballos after both players were acquired ahead of the ongoing 2025 season.
Saturday’s victory was the second in three games for the Revolution but arrives after a nine-match winless streak. With an uphill battle to save their hopes of qualifying for the MLS Cup Playoffs, the Revolution and Fofana need another victory in their next game at home against Charlotte FC on Saturday, August 30.
