Guinea have identified a gem in 18-year-old Mamady Cissé who earned a debut call up during the March international break.
The Club Atletico Mineiro midfielder produced a top notch performance, coming off the bench to score one of the goals during the Syli National 2-2 draw against Togo on March 27 at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat-Morocco.
He marked his second cap in a slim 1-0 defeat against fellow West Africans Bénin four day later.
“Two international friendlies, a first call-up, and a first goal.
“Proud to represent my country, grateful for this opportunity. We keep working to go even further,” he said.
Cisse has played two games for Atletico-MG as they sit in 14th in the Brazil Serie A on 8 points from eight matches.
Guinea have begun a rebuilding exercise with coach Paulo Duarte who has signed a two-year contract to help the nation’s course.
The 56-year-old former Burkina Faso and Togo manager was tasked with restructuring the team following the departure of Kaba Diawara.
Paulo Duarte was appointed in August 2025, succeeding interim coach Charles Paquille.
