Former Senegal national team striker Mame Biram Diouf showed that his goal scoring instincts are very much intact with two goals in a 3-0 TFF 1. Lig victory for Ankara Keçiörengücü on Saturday.
The former Stoke City and Hannover 96 marksman, who spent time at Manchester United early in his career, scored his first two goals of the 2025-26 campaign for Keçiörengücü as they earned their first Turkish second tier victory in over a month against Sarıyer SK.
Diouf capitalized on an awful back pass to intercept and finish the opening goal in the 20th minute before a set piece goal doubled the advantage for the hosts before halftime. But it was Diouf’s impressive 60th minute header that stole the spotlight as the 37-year-old sent a perfect snap header into the goal from Odise Roshi’s cross.
The 2018 World Cup veteran left Stoke to join Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor ahead of the 2020-21 season and has been in Turkish football since. After amassing 40 goals in 101 Super Lig appearances with Hatayspor and then Konyaspor, Mame Biram Diouf dropped down to the second tier where he provided 14 goals for Keçiörengücü last season, who are currently 14th on the 18-team TFF 1. Lig table.
