Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has refused to guarantee that Cameroonian Andre Onana will feature in Sunday’s Premier League game against Fulham.
The first-choice goalkeeper missed all United’s pre-season games against West Ham United, Bournemouth, Leeds United and Everton through injury.
Onana has since recovered from the injury and was available for selection in last weekend’s game against Arsenal. The Gunners won the match 1-0 with a goal that could partly be faulted on second-choice keeper’s Altay Bayindir.
It now appears Amorim will stick to Bayindir even with the former Inter Milan’s number being still available.
Giving his squad update, the Portuguese manager refused to be drawn on whether Onana will get a start between the sticks.
“Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be keeper,” Amorin told United’s media. “Licha is out, Nous is out. The rest of the guys are fit and ready to play.”
United will be without Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui who is injured but Cameroonian striker Bryan Mbeumo is expected to play again after a strong performance in the game against Arsenal.
