Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has hinted at resting some of his regulars, including Moroccan Noussair Mazraoui, in their Premier League match against Brentford on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
The Reds’ coach hinted at rotating his squad after an emphatic 3-0 away win over Athletic Club on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals first leg match.
The Portuguese coach told Manchester United media that some of his regulars were exhausted after the gruelling away match in Spain, hence the need to freshen up the squad.
"Of course we are confident, but we need to be really careful with our players against Brentford because you can feel it. Nous Mazraoui is dead [tired], Patrick is tired, so we have to manage the players,” he said.
Ruben Amorim insists Manchester United’s Europa League semi-final is not done, despite the Reds taking a three-goal lead into next Thursday’s second leg at Old Trafford.
“Of course, we have the advantage, we have our fans, but again this could change. Anything can happen in one game,” he added.
After visiting Brentford for the Premier League game, Manchester United will turn their attention to the UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg match against Athletic Club on May 8, 2025.
Casemiro’s header and captain Bruno Fernandes’ brace won the game for the visitors at a packed San Mames.
