Comoros national team star forward Myziane Maolida made a successful return to his club on Saturday from Africa Cup of Nations duty, scoring twice as Al Kholood thrashed Al Fayha 5-0 in the Saudi Pro League.

After struggling to make an impact with Comoros at the ongoing AFCON in Morocco, Maolida took out his frustration on Zambia striker Fashion Sakala and Al Fayha with an excellent performance. The visitors were ahead inside five minutes when the forward unleashed a fierce strike from just outside the penalty area.
After a period of calm, a surge at the end of the first half put Al Kholood ahead by three goals. Christopher Smalling’s own goal in the 38th minute was followed up by a goal from Uruguayan forward Ramiro Enrique to put the result beyond doubt. Alfa Semedo’s red card after the hour mark left Al Fayha in a position where they could only try to prevent a humiliating result.
But Al Kholood continued to be merciless. Shortly after the red card, Hattan Bahebri made it 4-0 before Maolida powered through a demoralized defense to add his second goal.

Minor injuries and inconsistent form have made it an underwhelming 2025-26 season for the Comorian forward but Saturday’s match provides encouraging signs for a strong second half of the campaign for Maolida. He now has 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 matches across all competitions for Al Kholood this season, who sit in 12th place on the league table.
