Algerian club USM Alger has officially announced the appointment of Brazilian coach Marcos Paquetá as the team’s new head coach until the end of the current season.
Alongside Paquetá, the club has confirmed the return of Belaïd Modjahed, who will take on the role of fitness coach within the new coaching staff. Additionally, Abd Alrazak Loulmi has been appointed as the head coach’s translator.
The club highlighted that both Paquetá and Loulmi had previously worked together in Algeria for two seasons, ensuring a level of familiarity within the technical setup.
This managerial change follows the recent departure of Nabil Maâloul, with whom the club reached an agreement for his exit as head coach.
Paquetá travelled with the team to Biskra to assess his squad closely. He oversaw a recovery session on Saturday, with Sunday marking his second official training session in charge.

His most recent coaching spell was with CR Belouizdad from October 2023 to July 2024, where he led the team in 39 matches, securing 21 wins, 10 draws, and 8 defeats, with a goal tally of 55 scored and 30 conceded. During this tenure, he guided them to the Algerian Cup title.
