Egyptian star Omar Marmoush played a key role in Manchester City’s opening goal during their 1-1 draw against West Ham United in Matchweek 31 of the Premier League.
Manchester City dropped two important points at home after being held to a draw, dealing a blow to their hopes of catching league leaders Arsenal in the title race.
City opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Marmoush delivered a pass to Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder produced a superb finish, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper from the left side to give the hosts the lead.
The assist marked Marmoush’s third in the Premier League this season with Manchester City. The Egyptian forward has yet to register an assist for the club in other competitions so far this campaign.
West Ham responded quickly and found the equalizer in the 36th minute. Following a corner kick, Jarrod Bowen delivered a cross that was met by Konstantinos Mavropanos, who powered a header past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the net.
With the draw, Manchester City moved to 61 points in second place, while Arsenal remain at the top of the table with 70 points, although City still have one game in hand.
