Manchester City has received a timely boost as Egypt international Omar Marmoush is set to return from injury in time for their Premier League fixture against Brentford on October 5.
Marmoush picked up a knee injury during Egypt’s recent World Cup 2026 qualifier against Burkina Faso, raising concerns about his availability. However, according to Manchester Evening News, the forward is likely to be fit before the upcoming international break.
City have not disclosed the exact duration of Marmoush’s recovery, but the news of his swift return comes as a rescue for Pep Guardiola, whose squad has been heavily hit by injuries. Rayan Cherki, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Abduqodir Khusanov, and Erling Haaland are all sidelined, while midfielder Mateo Kovacic is still working his way back after missing several months with an Achilles problem.
Before facing Brentford, City will host Burnley at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday in the sixth round of the Premier League. The defending champions currently sit ninth in the table with 7 points from 5 matches.
