Aubameyang returns to Marseille after leaving Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, where he allowed his contract to expire to pursue a return to European club football. The 36-year-old signed a two-year contract and is set to be a valuable piece as Marseille return to the UEFA Champions League for the 2025-26 campaign.
He scored 21 goals in 36 games during his one season at Al Qadsiah, proving himself worthy of another opportunity at the highest levels of European club football. Aubameyang is fondly remembered at Marseille and his signing is being hailed at the club where he scored 30 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions during the 2023-24 season. The Gabonese superstar notably scored 10 goals in the UEFA Europa League that season as Marseille reached the semifinals.
