Marshall Munetsi open to permanent transfer with Paris FC

Zimbabwe midfielder Marshall Munetsi is not ruling out a permanent transfer to Ligue 1 outfit Paris FC when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old, who is on loan from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, was on target as Paris FC settled for a 1-1 draw against Lorient in Ligue 1 fixture at Stade du Moustoir on Sunday.

Senegalese forward Bamba Dieng had scored for Lorient at the start of the second half, before the Warrior ensured Paris took something from the game, after he levelled matters in the 74th minute.

‘There is great project here’

Speaking after the game, Munetsi admitted he was impressed with the project going on at Paris while opening the door to remain at the Stade Jean Bouin next season.

“I feel good here alongside some players that I know. We get on well and you see that on the pitch,” said Munetsi after the game.

“You can’t buy this atmosphere; it’s there, or it isn’t. I came for six months and I am focused on the six games remaining. We will see what discussions are had at the end of the season. There is a great project here.

“My family like it here in Paris. My two boys were born in France. It is also my country a bit.”

Munetsi is on loan from Wolves

The draw enabled Paris to jump to 13th on the table with 32 points from 28 matches. Munetsi has now scored four goals in 11 Ligue 1 games for Paris FC.

Munetsi joined Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract.

He made his debut for the club in February in a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup, and scored his first goal in a 1-1 league draw against Everton.

However, in January 2026, Munetsi was loaned to Ligue 1 side Paris FC until the remainder of the season.
