Strasbourg winger Martial Godo has weighed up the option of playing for the Ivory Coast at the senior level.
The 22-year-old, born in England to Ivorian-French parents, has represented England six times at the U-20 level after spending his formative years at Dartford United.

Having represented Ivory Coast once with the U-23, Godo spoke about the first of time wearing Ivory Coast shirt with the Olympic team.
“It was good to represent Ivory Coast because I think it was a good moment for me and not just for me but for my family as well and very proud to represent with our blood for the whole nation,” Martial Godo told Canal Plus Afrique.
“Representing both England and Ivory Coast is especially positive and an honour achievement so we will see in the future.
Asked whether he has spoken to Ivory Coast coach Emerse Fae on the potential of representing Ivory Coast at the senior level, Godo remained elusive with his answer.
“I speak to him there and there [and] not really about the national team but just to check up on him a little bit and he is someone I look up to as a former player of Ivory Coast and the head coach of Ivory Coast and just to check up on each other and my mum and dad speak to him as well.
“I am hoping to play for the national and I am going to see you soon.”
His only Ivory Coast game came in an international friendly for the U-23 against the Netherlands in June 2025 but is yet to play at the senior level.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Martial might consider the option of joining coach Emerse Fae’s squad for the global football showpiece as England call up could be a mirage.
Godo previously played for Margate in a dual registration with Dartford before signing with then Championship side Fulham FC. He had a loan spell at Wigan Athletic.
In 2025, Martial Godo was snapped up by Strasbourg from Fulham FC in a five-year deal worth €7 million Euros. He has played 18 matches for the Ligue 1 side this campaign with seven goals and two assists to his credit.
