Mas Ud Dramani: Hearts of Oak coach bent on recapturing continental glory

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has assured the club’s fans of challenging for trophies as next season inches closer.

The experienced trainer replaced Ivorian tactician, Aboubakar Ouattara – signing a two-year deal with the record FA Cup holders.

The former coach of Asante Kotoko said: “Hearts of Oak is a great club with a great tradition, recognized across Africa and beyond. It is a privilege to serve one of the greatest clubs globally.

“My dream is to bring direction, consistency, sustainability and success, and to be remembered for great things here.

“No coach likes losing, and it may not be the last time we face setbacks. But we will challenge for trophies,” he added.

“Hearts will be competitive, challenge for trophies and qualify for major competitions. We just need the fans to fill the stands, keep the faith and trust the process. We will win a lot together,” Dramani said.

Didi-Dramani’s first competitive assignment ended in a 2-1 defeat against rivals, Asante Kotoko in the 2025 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak will compete in the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup on Sunday (August 17) before competing in the GHALCA Top 4 from August 2024 to usher in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The former Ghana assistant coach knows the stakes at Hearts of Oak as the 2000 CAF Champions League winners look to replicate the 2020/21 season where they swept all domestic trophies, the league title, FA Cup and the President’s Cup.

Hearts of Oak remain the only Ghanaian club to have won the CAF Champions League, Super Cup and the Confederation where they claimed the maiden edition in 2004.
