Zimbabwe national team rising star Tawanda Maswanhise has inked yet another piece of history in the folklore of the Scottish Premiership.
The Warriors forward has not stopped scoring since he burst onto the scene at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco where he scored and provided an assist in the 3-2 loss to South Africa.

Now back to the Scottish Premiership also known as William Hill Premiership, Maswanhise is scoring for fun with his latest exploits for Motherwell FC coming over the weekend.
The AFCON star scored a double as Motherwell FC cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Dundee United at Fir Park over the weekend.
The double took the Warriors’ forward’s tally to 21 goals this season. Apart from that, Motherwell FC said the striker also set a record in the process.
“Maswanhise.. became the first Motherwell player to score 20 goals in a season since Kevin van Veen in 2023. 37 minutes, 1,” reads the statement.
The Scottish side added Maswanhise has, by scoring the brace, matched a record that stood for 63 years.
“Becoming just the eighth Motherwell player to score 20+goals in a season in the last 63 years. Scoring goals in a variety of ways. Keep it up Tawanda,” reads the statement.

The Zimbabwe national team striker now has 16 goals in 25 league matches and has also impressed in cup competitions, bringing his total to 21 goals in 34 matches in all competitions.
The title-chasing Jens Askou-led club has since made it 12 games unbeaten in the league, thanks to the exploits of the January 2026 player of the month award winner.
