Kenyan Premier League outfit Mathare United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Odiwuor on a one-year deal from Bidco United ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Ceedo, as he is affectionately referred to by his peers, became the ‘Slum Boys’ fourth signing of the current window. The Migori Boys alumnus, who is Mathare’s second acquisition this off-season from Bidco, becomes the second goalkeeper to join John Kamau’s squad after the earlier signing of Kevin Ouru.

Aside from Bidco, Odiwuor has featured for KCB in the top flight. With the Bankers, the 6ft 1in keeper shared a dressing room with Mohammed Kilume, Brian Ochieng and David Okello, who is now his goalkeeping coach.

Meanwhile, Mathare United have further signed goalkeeper Kevin Ouru on a one-year deal. The shotstopper arrived from Posta Rangers, for whom he played an integral part in their survival last season.

This becomes Ouru’s third stop in his professional career. He joined Kariobangi Sharks immediately after clearing his O-Levels at Kakamega High School and played four seasons before his switch to Rangers last year.

The former Green Commandos player made the second-most appearances between the sticks for the Mailmen last season and kept four clean sheets, the most important of which came in a 2-0 victory over Naivas that set them on their way to winning a two-legged relegation/promotion playoff.
