The Republic of Congo under-20 national team will leave Southern France with two victories after earning seventh place at the Maurice Revello Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Panama early Friday.
Former Rennes player Noah Le Bret Maboulou, currently a free agent, scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot close to halftime. The result ends an encouraging experience for the Congolese team with the opportunity to examine several French-born dual national players as well as domestic youth talent against challenging opponents.
Another highlight from the competition for the Red Devils is that Jason Bemba won the award for Best Goal.
The Sochaux youth player completed a spectacular comeback against Mexico in the best possible way...with a bicycle kick in second half stoppage time to equalize. Congo went on to win the penalty shootout before winning Friday's seventh place match.
