Mbeumo impressed against Everton but needs to improve in a lot of things – Amorim

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has discussed the debut of Cameroon striker Bryan Mbeumo during their 2-2 friendly against fellow Premier League side Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Mbeumo, who moved to Old Trafford this summer from Brentford, started Sunday’s Premier League Summer Series match against the Toffees in Atlanta, USA, playing as one of two no.10s alongside Bruno Fernandes.

He showed off his impressive pace and power in the forward areas, and tested Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on two occasions.

“I think he played well,” Amorim told Man United website after the game. “Of course, he needs to improve in a lot of things,” continued Ruben.

“You can feel the physicality of Bryan is not perfect, that is normal, but the first touch, the way he turns and connects to the other guys, the runs that he makes, it is really important.

“And he is going to be really important to our team.”
