Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo has discussed the atmosphere at Old Trafford after he scored two goals to help his side secure a 4-2 Premier League win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Reds registered their third consecutive Premier League win with a 4-2 victory over the Seagulls, with Matheus Cunha, Casemiro and Mbeumo (two) all getting on the scoresheet.
Giving his thoughts about the game, the former Brentford striker, who had scored again in the team’s 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield the previous weekend, told MUTV as quoted by Man United website: “The team’s performance, obviously first,” he said.
“I’m very pleased with the win today. Everyone made the effort and fought for each other and, yeah, in the end, it was a good result. We are working on the link-ups in training and trying to replicate it on the pitch.”
Asked to pick the best from the two goals, he said: “I think both of them. A goal is a goal, I would say. I’m very happy with this great teamwork as well. Benji [Sesko] gave me a top ball and Ayden [Heaven] for Bruno, who just let it go for me.
“I’d seen a big gap but obviously I didn’t know that Ayden was going to put it through. Luckily, it happened and I’m happy to score. I’m generally very happy.”
On the atmosphere at Old Trafford, he responded: “Honestly, it’s so good. The atmosphere is crazy here. The fans are unbelievable. It is always good to score but especially here.
“With the goals, even when we have the ball, when we win a tackle. When we win a throw-in, win a foul. Everything is great here and I wish we could play every game here.”
Mbeumo, 26, is currently Manchester United’s top scorer in the Premier League with four goals. His superb form in August earned him the Fans’ Player of the Month award.
Cameroon coach Marc Brys will be pleased that Mbeumo continues to perform well at club level ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifier playoff game against DR Congo on November 13.
